GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF CLASS:
The purpose of the class is to provide a high level of service to customers. The class is responsible for filling orders, managing the cash register, and stocking and ordering materials. The class works according to set procedures under direct supervision.

ESSENTIAL TASKS:
Maintains positive customer relations through customer service.

Prepares food and drinks for customer orders.

Acts as cashier for the register upon opening and balances the register.

Manages the stocking of items.

Places orders of supplies that are needed.

Cleans and vacuums the designated area.

Performs related tasks as necessary.

DATA INVOLVEMENT:
Compare or inspect items against a standard.

PEOPLE INVOLVEMENT:
Serve others such as customers, attend to their requests and exchange information with them.

INVOLVEMENT WITH THINGS:
Handle or use machines, tools, or equipment requiring brief instruction or experiences such as hand and power tools, buffers, floor polishers, vacuum sweepers, outdoor handheld power equipment, small mowers, commercial kitchen equipment, computers for data entry, fax, complex copiers, phones systems, and other similar equipment; service office machines including such actions as adding paper and changing toner.

COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS
REASONING REQUIREMENTS:
Perform routine work using common sense.

MATHEMATICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Use addition and subtraction, multiplication and division, and/or calculate ratios, rates and percents.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:
Read simple sentences, instructions, or work orders; write simple sentences and complete simple job forms; speak simple sentences using basic grammar.

MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Perform clerical, manual, or technical tasks prescribed by standard practices but which may require computation, the use of several procedures, and the use of independent judgments with obvious choices; requires normal attention for accurate results.

JUDGMENTS AND DECISIONS-MAKING REQUIREMENTS:
Responsible to guide others requiring a few decisions, affecting the individual and a few co-workers; work in a stable environment with clear and uncomplicated written/oral instructions but with some variations form the routine.

VOCATIONAL/EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE PREPARATION
VOCATIONAL/ EDUCATIONAL PREPARATION:
High school, GED or specialized vocational training

SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:
Valid Texas Drivers License.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Over one month and up to and including three months.

ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS:
The job risks exposure to no significant environmental hazards.

SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
The job requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, hearing, and speaking.
